About Us.

The Road to Now.

Hyperdynamic began in a recording studio in 2017 as a partnership between a composer and an engineer. Since then, we are proud to have provided sound and score for almost 50 projects, developing our unique collaborative approach. We are inspired by our ongoing relationships with amazing filmmakers, and are excited by the prospect of future innovation.

Alex Olijnyk.

Alex is a screen composer and cellist based in Melbourne, Australia. With a background in contemporary classical and chamber music, Alex is commissioned by organisations such as Arts Centre Melbourne, Victorian Youth Symphony Orchestra, New Stage, Leicester University and the University of Melbourne. Her score for ‘Cicurlar’ was nominated for ‘Best Score’ at the South Australian Screen Awards.

These days, Alex specialises in multimedia/sensory works and has collaborated with extraordinary creators from abstract painters to filmmakers, graphic designers, and even chefs! Alex’s style blends traditional orchestral writing, electronic textures and modern scoring sensibilities. She is captivated by the collaborative process of making films and the meaning sound can bring to stories.

Alex is also a professional cellist, having played with multiple orchestras and ensembles around the world. She has a BMus (Honours) in Interactive Composition from the University of Melbourne.

Hamish Keen.

Hamish is a sound designer from South Australia now practising in Melbourne. His extensive early musical education sparked a now 15 year journey that has taken him from cathedral choirs and orchestras to sound effects and edit rooms.

He has a near rabid passion for all things Australian film and thrives in high pace, high pressure environments.
Having scored a feature film, designed sound for several short films, stage productions, installations, and independent works of his own, Hamish is a versatile producer and engineer skilled working with or without picture.

Hamish holds a Bmus (Interactive Composition) from the VCA & MCM at Melbourne University, and has half a decade of Sound Design and audio experience. He plays Piano and Saxophone badly and collects excessive amounts of vintage electronics.
